Don’t read if you like “Jim” Moriarty from BBC’s Sherlock
Because I can’t fucking STAND HIM! He doesn’t come off as menacing nor clever. Okay, he did when we didn’t see him, when he was a puppeteer behind the bombings. But when he was finally revealed? For all the excellent characterization the show had so far, it was a MAJOR MAJOR let down.
I remember seeing “The Great Game” the first time. And I was appalled. That is our Napeleon of Crime? A skreechy clown?
He isn’t funny, though he and the writers seem to think he is. I mean, wtf was up with him blowing a raspberry after the text in “A Scandal in Belgravia.”
And what baffles me more is how people seem to…like. this? At least if Tumblr is anything to go by. I wonder if they are mostly the ones who have never read the original Doyle nor seen any other adaptations? Because this “Jim” thing is just…terrible, especially in comparison.
Especially after Game of Shadows where Jerrid Harris was utter perfection in the role. He was intelligent and threatening. I truly felt he was the equal and even possibly the superior of Holmes’ intellect.
I can’t wait for next week to see the fucker die. AND HE BETTER FUCKING DIE! If Moff and Gattiss go “LOL, it doesn’t have to be exact like the stories! Moriarty forever!” I will not watch series 3. I am serious.

Yes, thank you, I’d have to agree. I don’t know why it’s so popular, but hopefully next week will be the last of him :/ …

I like him because he is different from other adaptations. I do think that if a modern day Moriarty existed he would probably be a bored and incredibly immature little man like that. Jerrid Harris is probably my favorite Moriarty though…
